Somi Hiers is a visual artist, graphic designer, and photographer based in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

She has held a deep love and passion for the arts since the age of 8 years old, first using the art of dance to explore her creative talents, and then moving to painting and drawing soon thereafter. Somi held on to and practiced this love for the visual arts all the way through grade school and into college where she switched gears and studied graphic design and photography.

Somi has always used her art to express herself, give a voice to, and process the darker parts of her life and history, having endured more than most by her young adulthood. Her art is a testament to strength and resilience, love for self, and growth and progress. It is a celebration of life and culture, as seen through the darkest corners of our existence.
